In 1722, seasonal flooding cut off a sharp bend in the Mississippi River from its own meandering course. Left behind was a long, curved lake – the False River. This waterway serves as a reminder of the river’s mighty influence on the people of Pointe Coupée Parish, Louisiana.
FALSE RIVER DARK RUM
Our dark rum is distilled from Oxbow Distillery’s Grade-A molasses fermentation, aged in Bourbon barrels, and then finished with a dark caramel blend. False River Spiced Rum is a premium Louisiana take on the well-known Caribbean dark rum.
Best enjoyed on the rocks, as a floater, or in cocktails: Dark n’ Stormy, Old Fashioned, Jungle Bird, and Hurricane.

This small batch spiced rum is distilled from sugarcane grown on the riverbanks of False River in Pointe Coupée, Louisiana. The 88-proof rum is blended with a proprietary recipe of natural botanicals, with hints of orange and vanilla.
Best enjoyed slowly…over ice or in a cocktail.

This spiced rum is made with rum distilled from sugarcane grown on these old riverbanks, then aged in American oak barrels and infused with a proprietary recipe of botanical and other natural flavors.
